Whether Northern folk or comfortably southern, the desire to make our homes more than just a place to hang a hat is something we all have in common. There’s nothing like “sprucing up” a room or two to give your family’s homestead a brand new feel! At the Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Feud™ in Pigeon Forge, TN, any thoughts of brand new dwellings for the two long at odds families are nothing more than pipe dreams. Luckily for you they’ll settle for a couple of brand new cabins that they can call “home”. Both of which are twenty feet up in the air.
The producers of this most popular dinner attraction in the Southeast are always looking for ways to improve the show, taking great pains to ensure that the high-tech gadgetry doesn’t take away from the overall “hillbilly” feel of the presentation. As Dolly herself once said, “It takes a lot of money to look this cheap!”, and this latest addition is no exception with owners David Fee and Jim Hedrick supremely confident that the investment will pay off in the way of countless smiles, memories, “Oooh’s” and “Aaahh’s” as currency.
By project’s end both the Hatfield & McCoy families will each have brand new vantage points from which to throw slurs from and create some good, old-fashioned mayhem from. These new “treehouses” might even provide a little shelter from one another’s barrage of hay bales, logs, rocks, scissors and papers! Word has it that a swingin’ bridge between the two may or may NOT appear during the feud! What a sight THAT would be! So in the coming months remember that should you hear the words “Look out below!” you MIGHT just want to take heed as well as ready your camera!
