When the cold temperatures start to fade and warmer temperatures start to roll in, that can only mean one thing — it’s springtime in the Smoky Mountains! Spring is one of the best times to visit Pigeon Forge if you’re hoping for fewer crowds and mild temperatures for plenty of outdoor adventures. To help you plan the perfect vacation, we’ve made a list of the top four things to do in Pigeon Forge in the spring.
1. Visit Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Feud
There’s never a bad time of the year to visit our Pigeon Forge dinner show! Join us in the spring for some feudin’, feastin’, and family fun. We have daily shows in the springtime, making it easy for you to find time to visit while you’re in town, and we offer a full evening of excitement! When you arrive at our show, enjoy our many photo opportunities outside the theater and visit with our barnyard animals, then head inside to browse our gift shop and get a souvenir photo taken. After you take your seats in our theater, you’ll be served an all-you-can-eat Southern homestyle feast that is sure to satisfy all your home-cooked, country cravings! Then, get ready for the action that’s about to take place on stage. The Hatfields and McCoys try to settle their differences through jaw-dropping stunts, mighty feats of strength, singing, dancing, and more. The chaos will keep you entertained the entire evening! Whether you visit with your family, friends, or sweetheart, you’ll have a great time at the Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Feud.
2. Go for a Hike Along the Greenway Trail
Spring temperatures tend to range from the 60s into the 70s, making it the perfect weather to do some exploring! For a mild walk, we recommend going for a stroll along the Pigeon Forge Greenway. This popular walkway is a peaceful, tree-lined trail that runs alongside the Little Pigeon River. Along the way, you’ll have access to many popular restaurants, shops, and attractions! If you’re hoping to spend some time in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, take the short drive into Gatlinburg to hike the Gatlinburg Trail or make your way to a popular waterfall, like Grotto Falls! Stunning scenery surrounds you wherever you go, and the spring weather prevents you from getting too cold or too hot.
3. Be the First to Visit Dollywood When It Opens for the Season
Another one of the best things to do in Pigeon Forge in the spring is visit Dollywood. This world-class theme park closes in early January and reopens for a brand new season in early to mid-March of each year. You can be one of the first guests to visit Dollywood when it opens for the new season! Experience thrilling rides, unique shops, family-friendly adventures, and delicious treats. During the spring, the attraction hosts its Flower and Food Festival! Enjoy more than 500,000 vibrant flowers, unique seasonal foods, and fun stage shows. Before you leave, be sure to get the world-famous cinnamon bread from the Grist Mill!
4. Grab a Frozen Treat at Titanic Ice Cream
When the temperatures start to warm up, we all start craving our favorite frozen treat: ice cream! That’s why one of the best things to do in Pigeon Forge is to visit Titanic Ice Cream. This shop is adjacent to the popular Titanic Museum Attraction and offers everything from ice cream blends and sundaes to shakes and malts. You can also choose from some savory options like sandwiches and wraps if you’re feeling hungry! We recommend trying the First Class Banana Split, which is perfect for sharing. It includes four scoops of ice cream served on pound cake and topped with pineapple sauce, strawberry sauce, hot fudge, caramel, banana portholes, churro smokestacks, whipped cream, and cherries. Both the presentation and the taste are top-notch! While you’re in the area, plan a visit to the Titanic Museum Attraction to celebrate the ship, its passengers, and its crew members and experience firsthand what it was like on the RMS Titanic.
If you choose to visit both our show and the Titanic Museum Attraction, take advantage of our combo tickets!
