Where to Stay
The first step when planning a trip to the Smoky Mountains is to decide where you want to stay. The area is home to campgrounds, condos, hotels, and cabin rentals. Where you stay depends on what features you’re interested in. Hotels provide a convenient location close to area attractions and a short drive to the park, while cabin rentals provide privacy and amenities that feel just like home. When you spend the day in the heart of the Smoky Mountains enjoying everything they have to offer, you’ll love returning to your lodging for a relaxing evening in the hot tub or by the fire!
Exploring the National Park
The Smoky Mountains have over 800 miles of hiking trails to explore, incredible fishing and wildlife viewing opportunities, scenic drives, and so much more. When you spend time in the park, there are some can’t-miss places to visit, and we’re here to share them with you! Cades Cove is the most popular area in the park. It features an 11-mile loop road that allows visitors to see historic structures, wildlife, and scenic views. It’s one of the top spots in the park to see black bears and is also home to one of the most popular waterfalls, Abrams Falls. If you’re interested in seeing the Smokies from the comfort of your car, this is the place to go! We also recommend going for a hike to see the beauty of the Smokies up close. Popular hikes include the Gatlinburg Trail, Alum Cave Bluffs, and Rainbow Falls, but you can’t go wrong with any hike you choose!
When you visit, make time to experience everything the park has to offer. Pack a lunch to enjoy in one of the many picnic areas, go for a scenic horseback ride, or visit unique structures that played a role in Smoky Mountain history. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is home to endless adventures!
